- Helmsley Green Day (
www.helmsleygreenday.org.uk ) and a big thank you to all the people
who expressed an interest, and have shown their commitment to the
cycleway by becoming a "Friend of the Cycletrail"
- Special thanks to Jean for
her gentle persuasion and determination to enlist support and to the
Kirkbymoorside Environmental Group for their help in promoting the
Cycle trail.
3rd August 2008
- The "Ryedale Cycle Trail
Banner" can now be seen on the A170, about a mile outside of
Helmsley.
29th July 2008
- The "Ryedale Cycle Trail
Banner" was at the Ryedale Show.
17th July2008
- Extract from a letter from NYCC's senior engineer for special projects
Neil Leighton.
"With
regard to your request that North Yorkshire County Council
commission Sustrans to undertake a feasibility study concerning use
of the disused rail line for cyclists; it is my intention to
contract Sustrans with a view to establishing study costing and
future funding of any proposals. When I have communicated with
Sustrans I will write to you again."
(Both Neil and David Hall (Sustrans regional director) are now both
on annual leave until 28th July)
July 2008
- Sustrans have confirmed to fund up to half
of the implementation costs for the Ryedale Cycle trail
- Sustrans have placed a link to our
website from their website
- Responses given to North Yorkshire
County Council's planned road cycle route from Helmsley to Pickering.

to be erected to advertise web site
